Charlotte County Golf Course Communities

Charlotte County Florida offers golfers a wide range of options, including some of the finest golf courses anywhere, along with golf schools, family programs, golf tournaments, corporate golf outings, and more. Charlotte County has 23 public, private or semi-private golf courses, many of which are the envy of the state. Manicured fairways and lawns shimmering in the Florida sun are an irresistible attraction to golfers.

Charlotte County has an abundance of golf course communities due to our tropical climate and being able to golf year round. You can live in a single family residence on the lush green fairways or live in a maintenance free condo overlooking the golf course. Whatever style home you want, Charlotte County Golf Course Communities has something for you.

Below is a small sampling of the many golf course communities in Charlotte County that offer single family homes, condos, villas or duplexes both on and off the golf course.

Bobcat Trail Golf & Country Club in North Port has a championship course with home sites bordering the manicured greens and fairways. The design takes advantage of native vegetation, gracious oaks, towering pines and tropical foliage, and has been compared to northern courses because of the undulation of the fairways

Sabal Trace Golf & Country Club in North Port is a 50 year old semi-private golf course features a championship, 18-hole course designed by architect Charles Ankrom. The greens and fairways of this course are well maintained, and water comes into play on every hole.

Riverwood Golf and Country Club in Port Charlotte is a Golf Digest four-star championship course. This course's fairways vary in width and are lined with thick rough and trees. The course's terrain is basically flat, but there are some small hills that can affect your lies.

Heron Creek Golf & Country Club in North Port winds through the Heron Creek master-planned community. Designed by Arthur Hills, this parkland-style course has rolling, tree-lined fairways, playing to medium-sized greens (averaging 6,500 square feet each) that are generally flat and moderate in speed.

Plantation Golf & Country Club in Venice has two eighteen hole regulation courses. The Panther Course features two island greens. All the greens are slightly sloped and protected by small pot bunkers, and the fairways are tree lined. The Bobcat Course was built on rolling terrain and has water hazards coming into play on several holes.

Pelican Pointe Golf & Country Club in Venice has a 27 hole championship golf course that winds through neighborhood homes and nature preserves which offer players rare glimpses of Florida wildlife and scenery.

Burnt Store Marina & Country Club in Punta Gorda has three executive nine hole courses that are played in three eighteen hole combinations. The courses were cut out of the woods and are scenic. The courses are located within a marina community, which has many dining facilities and shops.
